First box of 2006!

The honor goes to Man on the Moon. Hurray! Our first time out 'boxing since November... yikes! We actually had a struggle getting to the trailhead for this box. It was located in the Metamora- Hadley Recreation Area in Metamora. J checked the website before we headed out for winter hours, but they didn't list anything. So, we got there, paid, and drove into the park, only to find that the gates were locked! Feeling rebellious (afterall, we just gave up $6 for this box), we decided to park our car and walk around the gates and up to the trailhead. As the park was completely empty, we weren't overly concerned with getting "caught" ... but it certainly added to both the adventure of the day and the length of the walk!

We found the box without problem and the stamp was beautiful. We were pleased to see that only a handful of 'boxers have visited this box, so we felt pretty special. Among them was TrailTroll, and Eye Spy (who we ran into once in Lake Orion but were too slow and forgot to get her stamp).

It was bright and sunny and all together unlike January. A very nice day for letterboxing!
